Fall 2023 class dates:
Our Fall 2023 classes are sponored by Brazos Center for Chinese Culture and Education (BCCCE) and Chinese American Association at TAMU. We will have 15-week classes from August 27 (Sunday), 2023 to December 16 (Saturday), 2023. There is no classes during 11/19-11/25. We have face-to-face classes on Sunday afternoon at Rudder Tower and all other classes are virtual.

欢迎各位小朋友来到马立平二年级！ 从二年级开始，小朋友们将进入中文学习的第一个爬坡阶段，同时面临突破认字的瓶颈期，二年级教材内容的难度较一年级明显提升，我们将继续以兴趣为主，寓教于乐，用尽量丰富有趣的形式辅助课堂学习，鼓励小朋友在课堂上多开口，多思考，勤动笔。此外，对教材的使用会更加充分，同时会安排不定期课堂小测验以及期中和期末两次考试。计划在本学期完成第一单元和第二单元的前2课，适时根据学生学习和掌握情况调整进度。 课程安排为每周两次，周三晚上6:30-7:30线上课和周日下午1:30-2:25实体课，周日实体课以教授新课为主，周三线上课为复习巩固时间，需要家长同时为小朋友注册实体课和线上课，以便紧跟班级学习进度，达到更好的学习效果。 【教材说明】 马立平中文课程的二年级教材是以课本为核心并相互配合的整体，其中包含：

Course Description This semester we are starting from chapter 1 of the AoPS Algebra textbook. I will try and finish one chapter in around 2-3 weeks.
Homework I will leave the exercises of the sections we learned as homework. On Friday every week I expect for the homework to be turned in. Number Sense is a UIL contest that makes you do math in your head fast and accurately. This class will teach students how to do math quicker, faster, and better. It will teach tips and tricks and problem solving techniques.This includes basic addition, subtraction. multiplication, and division. Students will also practice general math strategies. Homework for each class will either be a practice Number sense test or General math test. A number sense test will take 10 minutes, but a General math test will take a little longer, taking 40 minutes. They will need scratch paper, pencils, and an eraser. Close |

Course Description: This class is for students who want to learn about how the world works through the lens of chemistry! Students in grades 5 and up (or bright younger students) with a comfortable grasp of school math and science should be ready for the class. We will cover basic chemistry topics ranging from the definition of matter to the factors that affect the speed of a chemical reaction. Our goal is to encourage the students to appreciate science and establish a solid foundation so they feel inspired to pursue more challenging opportunities in the future.
Below is an outline of the topics I am planning to cover, which I can definitely adapt based on the students’ needs. After each class, I will assign around 10 problems for homework.
